Hug a bubbas is hands down the best place I have ever had the pleasure of doing dog related business with. I have been taking my 3 1/2 year old border collie to them since she was about 4 months old and I have yet to have even an average experience, they have gone above and beyond consistently for over 3 years now. They have two separate play areas (divided by the boutique displayed dog products and front desk area) which they used while socializing Chiquita, my border collie, when she was a puppy by keeping her on the small dog side and introduced her to the big dogs slowly. They truly care about your dog as they would their own, which is saying something. The owners are some of the most genuine and caring people I have met and they are generally by whom you are greeted upon walking through the front door, they also have a couple of gals that have been working there for at least a few years (they have been there since my first time there) and are equally as quality. 



I am writing this review because as I write this my little girl is in their care, I am out of the country and my return has now been delayed by a day for the second time. Of all the things I am concerned about by this delay, she is somehow not one of them. They responded within minutes to my request to keep Chiquita for another night with "yes, not a problem". And don't think for a second that your dog is going to be spending his/her time in a sad lonely metal kennel while you are on your sunny vacation, your dog will be having the time of his/her life romping around their backyard, swimming, chasing balls or playing with other dogs. It's hard to explain how great of a place this is. 



Oh, and don't expect a fancy building like some of the modern dog places downtown Portland, the building doesn't have 5 stories or look too fancy, but between daycare and boarding, my dog has spent over 1,500 hours there and has never even had a sniffle. Very, very clean and impeccably maintained inside. Also, my dog eats a special diet that requires frozen food and much more than just a cup of kibble. Problem...? Of course not. They are delighted to make sure she even gets her daily vitamins while I'm away.



I would recommend this place to absolutely anyone, especially friends and family. One of the best businesses, of any sort, I have ever come across. Four Seasons service for dogs and their people.
