These guys are the best of the best.

*cross posted*I have wanted to write a review since the day I received my ferret Barrel's ashes almost 2 years ago. It's just been a bit hard for me emotionally, and I regret not doing so sooner. Family Animal Services presented what was left of my prescious baby in the most dignified, and meaningful way. His ashes were placed in a beautifully furnished wooden box with carved designs. It was then tucked in a sheer brown bag. They took his prints in plaster, stamped his name, and tied a ribbon through it. They also included a sweet poem with their info on the back. It gave me peace.When my moms bird died (I loved her as my own), I called them and asked if I could order another couple cards. He send them for free. I had told him how much their presentation of my little guy meant to me, and shared my disappointment that they put my little cockatiel in a dog size metal container with paw prints. It actually hurt to see her remains like that. I also had previously lost a ferret (due to anesthesia which really hurt), and her ashes were given in a plastic container. He paw print was on an easily breakable clay that broke easily. When I shared my other experiences he offered to place my birdie in a new box. Her remains are in Ohio now, so it's difficult to get her back to Portland. Family pet services did an amazing job. I'm not 100% sure how easy it is to request a cremation company, but I would absolutely find a way (I was at Southwest Animal Hospital in Beaverton, and that is who they used). Knowing what great care they took of my guy, I was sure it was his ashes, and that his body was cared for even in death. Thank you so much for your kindness, and going above and beyond for me. I meant the world.

Wonderful service, genuinely caring and helpful people. Ms. Lynn even stayed a little past closing to let us bring our beloved dog Buddha in today. What a blessing. And it may be in bad taste to mention this, but the cost is very reasonable as well. Thank you Lynn and Family Animal Services for helping us both directly and emotionally in our time of need. Your gently caring manner helped us more than i can say.
