Maria is more than a massage therapist. She's a caretaker and a healer. I've never had a massage from someone who so thoroughly listened to the messages my body sent out. I didn't have to tell her "this pressure" or "that spot" because she knew. She's skilled in knowing her patient's nuanced body language. I left feeling rejuvenated, not just because the massage was amazing (and it was), but because the experience as a whole left me in the trust of a capable and attentive master of her art.

As a competitive athlete, my body gets pretty beaten up. I went in with shoulder pain/deltoid sprain, and after John spent focused work on it, my pain decreased and mobility increased! For the past year I have been suffering with lots of pain through out my entire upper chest and shoulders, as a national level competitive bodybuilder I needed the pain to go away, so one day I visited Absolute balance body works and didn't really know what to expect. my very first visit was a great experience and loved every treatment since ,now am healthier than before. In the past several years I've seen 5-10 different massage therapists, and none has provided the level of service that Maria has. Her calm, and patient demeanor are a pleasure, and she is imminently adaptable to my specific requests and pressure tolerances. In the past I've had issues with therapists ignoring specific requests to avoid certain areas or techniques. That's never been a problem with Maria. Her skill level is easily in the upper tier of what I've experienced, and her rates are very reasonable. She is also very amenable to spending time talking about specific muscle groups and educating me as to their names and locations.

Maria adapts her techniques to fit what my body needs in terms of pressure and style. She takes time to explain areas of concern post massage, going over the relevant muscles involved, and does an intake prior to me getting on the table, so she knows what to focus on. She has been a pleasure to work with, and I always look forward to her treatments.

I've tried several message therapist. None were as knowledgeable as Maria. She listened and met my needs, while challenging me to responsibly and pro-actively attend to my own health.

I got my wife a pregnancy massage package for Christmas shortly after finding out she was pregnant. Maria has helped her SO much. Maria is one of the few therapists I've seen who consistently provides a quality massage--- keeping in mind my tolerance for pressure in various spots. I don't have to remind her not to stretch me; nor do I have to worry that she's going to gauge me with an elbow. And those things mean a lot. Additionally, her intuitive feel for knots and muscle tightness mean that she can gauge which spots require more work and when she can move on to another muscle area.

Maria is an excellent therapist. She truly cares and takes the time to learn about your health conditions and what she can best do to help you feel better. I highly recommend her and have found few therapists that come close to her level of compassion and skill.
