JML Casual Home Design is a small individually owned Maine interior design firm that specializes in creating warm, comfortable, casual living spaces reflecting the client’s lifestyle, taste and personal budget. For over 20 years I have traveled internationally as a home furnishings product and interior home designer. Primarily working in Maine, I have designed and furnished homes in Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Connecticut, California and Puerto Rico. Whether you are building or furnishing a new home, moving from out of state, downsizing, renovating or preparing your house for the market, my comprehensive design services will save you time and money in the long run. My goal as an artist and business woman is to be remembered by each client as approachable, trustworthy, respectful of their time, opinion and budget with a passion and wealth of experience in the world of design. Services:Turn Key Moving Service Moving from out of state can be full of challenges and unanticipated events. With a network of local professionals Joanne works to have your home ready to move in with updates that need to be made. Helping you plan what furniture to bring, where it will go, what to get rid of before you come. Freshening the house with new paint colors, carpeting, window treatments for privacy or kitchen or bath renovations all can make the move easier and more exciting. Renovations and new home construction Joanne can create a floor plan that will make the best possible use of space through furniture arrangement, suggestions on lighting and storage. She works with architects and contractors to finalize floor plans, choose materials such as tile, flooring, cabinets, countertops and hardware that will be consistent with the desired look and function of the home. Kitchen renovations don’t need to cost a fortune and can make a huge difference in the way you and your family live and the resale value of the house. As an experienced home furnishings product designer, Joanne works directly with furniture and rug manufactures around the country. Using unique fabrics and styles that you won’t see anywhere else, she brings exclusive designs to you without you having to go into any stores. Or she can find the perfect fabric to reupholster furniture and have it done for you. Unique and functional window treatments are custom made by local expert seamstresses or the top manufactures of cellular shades. Shopping services are also available. Color consultation Within a couple of hours Joanne can bring your home to life through the use of colors that you love, enhance artwork or rugs that you want to use as focal points or bring peace to resting places. With the ability to visualize the end results of open spaces and connecting rooms, she will then develop a color palette for you that will flow through the entire home.
