Established in 1956, Porterville Sheltered Workshop provides services to more than 500 developmentally disabled adults in southern Tulare County, Calif. Its capabilities include assembling, envelope stuffing, heat sealing, digital copying, desktop publishing, fabrication and confidential document shredding. The workshop offers a variety of services, such as parking lot sweeping, ironing and laundry, landscape maintenance, graffiti control and dairy maintenance. Its adult service center provides several instructional and vocational opportunities. The workshop s adult center offers a range of services, including sensory stimulation, social skills training, recreational activities, and physical therapy evaluations and treatment plans. The organization also operates a range of wheelchair-accessible vans and buses. It is located in Porterville, Calif.
