Associated Milk Producers, a subsidiary of the Dairy Farmers of America, is a dairy cooperative owned by nearly 4,600 dairy farms in Iowa, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, South Dakota and Wisconsin. The cooperative s member farms produce nearly 5 billion pounds of milk a year with annual sales of nearly $1 billion. It processes and markets dairy products and ingredients for the retail, food service and food ingredient sectors. The cooperative s products include cheese, butter, instant milk, shelf-stable cheese and pudding and a host of value-added dairy ingredients. The cooperative is among the top 10 largest in the United States in terms of milk volume. It is also one of the nation s largest producers of cheese, butter and instant milk. AMPI provides services to help members with on-farm business. These services include milk contracting, equipment financing, milking system analysis and daily milk component testing. Associated Milk Producers maintains a location in Portage, Wis.
