General Info
Holy Family holds the distinction of being the first parish to be established in the newly formed Diocese of Palm Beach, founded in 1987. The first Mass was celebrated at the Knights of Columbus Hall on Ravenswood Road, Port St. Lucie, on Palm Sunday, April 12, 1987. Our first pastor was the Reverend Martin B. Mulqueen. Daily Mass was first held in the garage of the Rectory located on Canby Road. We quickly outgrew the Rectory, and in order to accommodate the increased number of people wishing to attend daily Mass, we then moved to the Treasure Coast Mall movie theater, lovingly named "Popcorn Heaven." Later in 1987, the Saturday Vigil and Sunday Masses were celebrated at the Village Green Elementary School cafeteria. On Palm Sunday 1990, just three short years later, the first Mass was celebrated in the new all-purpose building known as the Parish Hall. On September 24, 1994, the Reverend Thomas F. Cauley, Jr., was installed as the second pastor of Holy Family. Under Fr. Tom's direction, and with a magnificent effort by the men and women of the parish, the construction of the church was undertaken. The first Mass to be celebrated was the Midnight Mass on Christmas 1998. Since that first Mass, Holy Family's community of faithful has continued to grow. The church was built in . We added classrooms to the Parish Hall in 2002, and Ryan Hall--an additional 3,500 sq. ft. meeting hall, was dedicated on May 28, 2006. Fr. Tom retired in August 2015, and on September 1, 2015, the Reverend Tri Pham was installed as Parochial Vicar.
