Through kihon, kumite and kata you learn to control your movements and actions, building confidence and belief in yourself and your abilities.But this is only one small part of creating a karate mindset.The result of true karate is natural, effortless action, and the confidence, humility, openness and peace only possible through perfect unity of mind and body. This is the core teaching of Zen, the basis of Bushido, and the essence of the JKAs karate philosophy.
