Ositis Software, based in Pleasanton, Calif., provides integrated email and Web antivirus appliances. Ositis is one of the world's largest providers of antivirus appliances and develops the eShield and WinProxy product lines. WinProxy SecureSuite allows network administrators to manage user settings, including antivirus, anti-spyware, URL filtering and spam, as well as monitor usage from a user console. In 2003, Ositis was acquired by Blue Coat Systems, a Sunnyvale, Calif.-based company that provides secure proxy appliances that control user communications and content. Blue Coat s common shares trade on the NASDAQ under the ticker symbol BCSI.
