Bar and grill food is good ole American foods...sandwiches, fries, shakes, fried appetizers. The food we ordered was mexican food with a twist. Pleasant Hill already has two mexican restaurants. Our food was overpriced and it did not have a good flavor. They do have a classic cheeseburger and I regretted that I didn't order it. DROP the mexican foods and fine dining options (salmon, for one) and get back to the basics with prices to match. This place won't make it if they don't change their menu.

I live in Pleasant Hill, and the neighborhood has been very excited when we learned that a bar and grill was coming to PH! We were looking forward to some good beers on tap, maybe some craft beers, good bar food (nachos, burgers, etc), and perhaps even pool tables and dart boards. This is NOT a bar and grill! We went last night for the soft opening and it is really just a restaurant. The menu was limited since it was the soft opening, but the samples were not "bar and grill". $12 for a plate of bruschetta and waiters dressed in black. There is a "wine room" in the back for fancier dining away from the bar. Look, this is a fine concept, but frankly if we are going out for fine dining we will go downtown Des Moines or to the West Side. Pleasant Hill needs a good-old bar and grill! My prediction is that this place, sadly, will fail unless they change the concept.
