The Irvin Deutscher Family YMCA opened as the first Mt. Diablo Region YMCA branch in 1968. From that point forward, the Irvin Deutscher Family branch has served the greater Pleasant Hill, Calif., community through programs that are designed to strengthen individuals as well as entire families. Fitness programs, youth sports, active older adult programs and swimming lessons are among the programs provided at the Pleasant Hill YMCA. Additional Mt. Diablo Region YMCA facilities are located in Danville, Antioch, Oakley and Clayton, Calif. The Mt. Diablo Region YMCA roots were initially established as an extension of the Berkeley-Albany YMCA in 1948.
