Since 1951, Pleasant Hill Recreation & Park District has been providing recreational and sports facilities to more than 40,000 people. Based in Pleasant Hill, Calif., the organization offers facilities for aquatics, adult classes, golf, health/fitness, preschool, dance, youth dance, tennis and other sports. Some of its sports amenities include sports fields, lighted/surfaced courts, softball field, sand volleyball court, swimming pool, children s play areas, picnic/barbecue areas and restrooms. The community organizes special events, parties, picnics and meetings at its facilities. Pleasant Hill Recreation & Park District s Pleasant Hill Lions Club won the award for Outstanding Organization in the state by the California Association of Recreation and Park Districts (CARPD) in 2010.
