Provided by YP.comPLEASE READ!!! This place is UNBELIEVABLY HORRIBLE. If nothing else, for the safety of yourself and your family, DO NOT ride at Turkey Creek Stables.
Here's my story:
My family went to go horseback riding. All started out well until we get to the trail. Within two minutes, my wife almost got bucked off by the horse going nuts for no apparent reason. The horse was even uncontrollable with the "trail guide." In fact, the horse runs away and across the street (luckily the horse didn't get hit by a car). She quits and walks back the stable.
3 minutes later, the horse my son was riding evidently wasn't comfortable walking through mud. The horse spooks in the mud and throws my son off into the mud.
Meanwhile, the entire 5 minutes, my horse almost refuses to move...I've been on dozens of trail rides in my life. Ride over...
I'm furious...obviously. Management, of course, refused to refund. Further, ALL of their "trail guides" are young, inexperienced, and unable to control the horses.

Provided by YP.comI have to agree with all the negative reviews. I will not sit here and write a long review saying all the same things that were already written but I will say I drive out for almost an hour to get here and was so disappointed. The four horses my family and I rode were running very unruly. At first they did not want to move forward in the trail. My horse nipped the horse my daughter was riding and she lost control of her horse. They continuously stopped to eat grass and there was no water or food for them when we got back. One of the horses had an open wound on its face and on our way back they they ran fast regardless of us pulling the reins back or not. The guide was nice the staff was rude. If you have minors bring your own helmets, theirs are soooo gross. Don't be fooled by the beautiful trail pictures they have online, the trail is nothing like it at all. The horses are malnourished and haven't been bathed or brushed. Your clothes will be ruined and your shoes will be beyond cleaning. The horses are not well kept. The guide kept on saying to kick the horse harder in its ribs so it could continue. The whole experience was upsetting.

Provided by YP.comThis place is a filthy nightmare! The people are horrible and the horses are overworked and out of control. Don't waste time making an appointment because you will have to wait 45 min to 3hours regardless because once you give them your money they treat you like garbage. Last time I went I had not one but 2 out of control horses and my10 years old niece was given a horse that has a history of throwing people off (she was no exception.) We told the pre teens and teenage volunteers that run the place and they said "oh she must have gotten the white horse?
WTH, why would you put a child on a crazy horse that throws people off. Dont bother asking for a refund after your horrific ordeal because they don't care. They give you credit for another nightmare ride that no one wants. The ASPCA needs to remove those poor horses because they look hungry, overworked and abused.

Provided by YP.comMy family of five visited Turkey Creek Stables this last week end and had a fabulous time. The horses were beautiful and the guide that took us out was fabulous. She said she volunteers there every weekend because she loves to ride horses and she was able to help us learn a lot about horses. The staff was wonderful and the trails are beautiful. I would reccomend this place to anyone that wants to have an inexpensive family outing.

Provided by YP.comDon't get your hopes up! My Husband and I drove an hour to get there, continuously on the phone for directions, and arrived 2 minutes after 5PM and we were not allowed on. "We are done for the day" the receptionist told us after standing there waiting for her to finish talking to her 3-4 year old grandaughter for several minutes. I tried to exlain to here that we were the ones on the phone with her 5 minutes prior for directions and that we were only 2 minutes late! She then told me, "WE DON'T NEED YOUR BUSINESS." Very unprofessional and dirty place I DO NOT RECOMMEND!!!
