Be careful with this person, I thought I had found an honest landscaping person but I was wrong. I found his information here in the YP's looking for someone to fix my sprinkler system. At first Mr. Chavez seemed good, he did fix my sprinkler after a few days of exposed wiring until he could get back to it. Then after talking to him, I wanted to get a small palm tree cut down we settled on a price. He started to cut the tree down and his chainsaw broke, it took over a week for him to get it fix, then he finally came back. Then once he was finished cutting it down he left the tree in big chunks, and I asked him if the trash company will pick up the wood being in chunks like that and he said they would that he has done it before. I told him if they didn’t because they were too big, that he would need to come out and finish the job. So the trash company comes out and won’t pick up the wood because they are too big. So I reach back out to him and he says for $30 more he will haul it away. He says that I short changed him $10 from the agreed upon amount that we had come to. This was false because even before I wrote the check I had reconfirmed the price. I’m not sure if that was his intentions or not to leave the wood in the big chunks, knowing that the trash co would not pick them up. Then he could get the extra money to haul it away. After all of this I can say I don’t trust him. If you are going to do work with him, make sure you get everything in writing, create a work order of your own if you have to!
