Planada Elementary School offers various academic and extracurricular programs for students in kindergarten through grade five. Established in 1951, the school s facilities feature a library, computer laboratory, multipurpose room, cafeteria, playgrounds, ball fields and more than 35 classrooms. Its curriculum is developed by the California Department of Education and includes various subjects, such as English, mathematics, science, social studies and art. The school s library features computer carts, laptops, projectors and desktop computers. Its sports activities include baseball, track, soccer, basketball and cross country. Planada Elementary School also encourages parent and community involvement in campus activities. It additionally provides special attention to students who experience achievement problems and have trouble with decision making.
