Established in 1963, Sebasticook Valley Hospital is a 25-plus-bed medical center that offers a range of outpatient service. The center provides cardiology, cardiovascular, family medicine, gastroenterology, general surgery, neurology, ophthalmology, otolaryngology and pediatric services. It offers neurosurgery obstetrical, gynecological, orthopedic surgery, podiatry, pulmonary medicine and urology services. The center also maintains family caregiver and family violence support groups. It provides a babysitting program for children between the ages of 11 and 14, as well as serves patients in Maine. In addition, Sebasticook Valley Hospital offers kidney and heart health care and cancer, diabetes and stroke prevention services. It is a part of EMHS, which is also known as the Eastern Maine Healthcare Systems and operates several medical facilities and centers.
