BerkshireNet is an Internet service provider that provides dial-up Internet service to multiple area codes in New Hampshire, Vermont, Massachusetts, and New York. In addition to 56 kilobyte per second dial-up service, it offers wireless services, web hosting, mailing lists, dedicated connectivity, server collocation and custom intranet solutions such as firewalls and email gateways. BerkshireNet was formed in 1995 to service the internet needs of Berkshire County, Mass. It was the first locally-based Internet service provider to go online in Pittsfield, Mass. where the company headquarters is located.
