Provided by Doctor.comDr. Horwitz took a lot of time with me, explaining why I was having neck problems as well as having trouble working with the glasses and contacts that my old doctor gave me. It turns out that because I spend a lot of time working on computers, the older styles of progressive lenses that I wore just did not have enough viewing space set up to see my screen - so I was having to bend my neck in an uncomfortable way to work. This was news to me, but it made sense. She suggested that I get a special progressive computer lens. She suggested that I get them as a second pair. She talked me into them, and until I tried them I wasn't convinced. They came in a week or so ago and I have been using them at work and sure enough - my eyes are less tired at the end of the day and my neck isn't sore! I am convinced.
She also spent a lot of time making sure that I got the right frame - not only because of fashion but because I have a high prescription I need to get a smaller lens in my glasses. It turns out that the glasses that I have been getting for years have weighed a lot because of my prescription. Also, she showed me that because of the thickness and the technology of my previous lenses, there was a lot of distortion around the edges. Nobody ever explained that before. Dr. Horwitz showed me several newer lens technologies that have much less distortion and are lighter than my old lenses. Once I tried these new lenses I am a believer.

Provided by Doctor.comA visit to Dr. Horwitz is comforting and comfortable. You feel welcomed the moment that you walk in by the way that you are greeted. Even the chairs in the waiting room feel more like you are entering a nice home instead of the sterile atmosphere of a doctor's office.
The exam was the best that I have ever had. Dr. Horwitz takes her time to explain what she is doing and what she is finding. Besides looking at my retina (the back of my eye) through her lenses, she took a digital photo of it - and then she showed it to me and explained it. That was really cool.
Her frame selection is great. When you go to a mall store, or one of the big shops, all of the glasses look alike. She's got a lot of choices, from nice (but plain) all of the way to some pretty avante garde glasses. You can tell that she really wants to put you in something nice because she really takes her time with you. The doctor also took a while to make sure that I really understood about the lenses that I could choose. I had never known that there were so many different types of lenses.
I should mention here that while I was waiting she was helping someone else choose glasses - and that person then asked me what I thought of them. I've never experienced this elsewhere, but it seems that a lot of Dr. Horwitz's patients feel so comfortable here that they ask each other for styling advice. When it was my turn, I ended up asking the woman in the waiting room to come over to give me an opinion, and she didn't seem the least bit surprised. I ended finding out that she was a long-time patient, and this has happened to her many times.
I should also mention that her prices seem very fair. I am sure that I have gone elsewhere and paid a little less - but I never felt as though those doctors (or their staffs) cared about me, or cared about the services that they provided to me. With Dr. Horwitz you know that she cares. I guess that is why she calls her practice "Eye Care For You."
