General Info
Sonic Pulse Productions specializes in mobile DJ applications, small venue live sound reproduction, and mixing/mastering of recorded tracks. We pride ourselves on providing the highest quality customer service while providing the best results for your music or live event possible. Sonic Pulse Productions was founded by Joshua “Sideshow” Belko and Austin Ebner. After discovering they both had common goals of creating quality music production, they decided to team up and start their own business. Sideshow began his interest with live sound back in 2006 after forming a rock band while in high school. After a few years of experimenting with his band, he set out to learn more about music production by earning a degree in Music Production and Technology at Buena Vista University (BVU). Although the degree is largely focused around studio recording, mixing, and mastering, BVU also has an Event Production department (known as Event Technical Services (ETS)) which students interested in learning about live sound can be a part of. ETS is responsible for working with all the live events that come through the University as well as taking care of on-campus entertainment. Josh started working for ETS as soon as he attended college (August of 2008) and after working there for two years, he became the top student tech. In 2012, Josh was approached by the owner of DMM Systems while working with the Doc Severinsen band and was asked if he was interested in a job. Josh accepted the offer and then became an audio tech for DMM Systems where he worked until his move back to Minnesota at the end of November 2014. While working at DMM, he gained a lot of experience working with national level bands during festivals, small tours, and one-off shows. Some examples of artists he’s had the pleasure of working with as a tech are: The Charlie Daniels Band (Rosefest 2012), In This Moment (first three shows of their tour with Papa Roach, Summer 2012), Kenny Rogers with BJ Thomas (Canadian Tour), Night Ranger (Ribfest 2012 South Dakota and 2013 Wild Bill Days), Chris Cagle (first three tour dates Spring 2013), Hairball (Midwest cover band, if you like 80’s classic rock, check these guys out!), and many more! Josh also worked at the Washington Pavilion from time to time while living in Sioux Falls. The Washington Pavilion is a Theatre venue where many Broadway Tours, musicians, and events come through to perform. Other work-related facts about Josh: At Buena Vista University, he served as Co-President of the DJ club for over a semester. At DMM: Spent 150 days on the road, traveled 45,000 miles, worked over 200 shows with a total crowd attendance of over 300,000, assisted in moving and setting up over 5 million pounds of gear, and traveled to six states and one foreign country. Austin Ebner started his interest in music with playing piano at age 3. By the time he turned 12, and after many terrible experiences with piano lessons, he had grown tired of keys and switched his interest to drums and percussion. After attempting to start several different bands throughout high school with none of them having much promise, he turned his interest to studio work in order to help others in the music industry. To prepare for that, Austin attended BVU and got his degree in Music Production & Technology. While there, he immersed himself in the studio environment, spending countless hours working on improving his mixing and mastering skills. In addition to his extra work put into learning the tricks of the trade, Austin interned at DMM Systems in the summer of 2012 and was hired onto the crew for the summer of 2013. He also completed an internship at Audio Dallas Recording Studio (ADRS) in 2014 where he gained many insights on how to improve his recordings and mixes while working under Chief Engineer Matt Kennedy. Austin had the pleasure of working with the amazing musici
