We were in Pigeon Forge last weekend for the Grand Rod Run and were sent to eat at Smokin' Ed's BBQ there by other Rod Run visitors that were sitting around us. They promised us it would be the best BBQ we had ever eaten, and let me tell you, we were not disappointed. My husband and I shared ribs and wings that were nothing short of incredible. The place was really busy but Ed and his wife still made time to greet us and strike up a conversation. The food and the people at Smokin' Ed's are wonderful. We will always go back every time we are in Pigeon Forge. We can't wait for our next visit!

We ate here on 7/12/10. The best BBQ ribs either of us had ever eaten anywhere- perfectly smoked, great sauce, and just falling off the bone tender. Both the sides (baked potato salad and green beans) were good too. We met Smokin' Ed the owner. He was welcoming and pleasant with a genuine passion for BBQ that you can taste a hundred times over in his ribs. We'll make the drive from NC again just for more BBQ. It just is that great.



Don't expect to find a big fancy place. It's small and plain but cosy and very clean. If you have a big party, best to pick up some Smokin' Ed's takeout and find a pretty place to picnic.



The portions are incredibly generous- which is wonderful because the leftovers made a delicious lunch for us the next day. Due to the portions, the quality, and the family-friendly pricing, a meal there is truly an amazing value. Not that it matters. The only thing I'll remember about Pigeon Forge when I'm old and gray will be Smokin' Ed's outrageously perfect BBQ ribs. That makes this a consummate dining experience at any price in my book.



Five out of five stars because BBQ could be different and possibly just as good but just doesn't get any better than Smokin' Ed's.
