I purchased a 5000 series sleep number bed from Mattress Firm in April for $2060.00. One side wouldn't inflate. I notified management whom initally kept telling me to call the sleep number folks because they like to handle any problems with their beds personally. The last time I talked with the sleep number folks, they had no record of my purchase. So, I called Mattress Firm back, this time its a different manager and a different story. I am given options and it is suggested that I go with a firm mattress if I do not want to deal with mechanical aspects of a sleep number bed. When I call back with my decision, I have to deal with manager number 3. I opted for a different firm mattress that turned out to be a disaster. When I would lie on the bed, I immediately rolled into a sunken area in the middle of the bed.

When I informed management the very next day that this was totally unacceptable and caused me neck and back problems. They told me I just needed to give my body a chance to adjust; there are no refunds; you are only entiltled to one exchange (an important fact they left out before); and last but not least one of the employees acted like I was wrong for complaining by saying mattresses are like cars, you can't just buy a car and return it- can you? I went back again to remedy the situation. I told them this whole situation was causing me pain, anger and frustration. The manager e-mailed his manager for a response how to handle this and was suppose to call me back within a couple of hours. I still have not heard from them. In the meantime, my neck and back are still out of whack. Needless to say, I am not happy with the way mattress firm is handling this issue.
