General Info
The Herberger Theater Center is a non-profit organization whose mission is to support and foster the growth of performing arts in Phoenix as the premier performance venue, arts incubator and advocate. The Herberger Theater Center was conceived as a pivotal piece in the redevelopment and revitalization of downtown Phoenix. Built in 1989 to support and foster the growth of performing arts in Phoenix as a performance venue and arts incubator, the Herberger Theater Center has contributed to the cultural and educational development of the Valley. Each year, approximately 175,000 patrons, including 30,000 school-aged children share the unique experience of live performing arts. The Herberger Theater Center is proud to be home to three resident companies: Actors Theatre Arizona Theatre Company Center Dance Ensemble Other companies who use the Herberger: Valley Youth Theatre iTheatre Collaborative Arts Education and Outreach Programs The Herberger Theater Center has made a strong commitment to sustain its outreach programs and collaborations for youth by providing kids with an opportunity to experience the beauty and magic of the theater. Each year, thousands of youth have a chance to take the stage and shine in the spotlight. Art Gallery The Herberger Theater's Art Gallery is located on the second level. Quarterly exhibits showcase Arizona artists who touch the heart and imagination of everyone who enters the theater. All artwork is for sale with a portion of the proceeds from each piece sold benefiting the Herberger Theater.
