Its core businesses include the processing and distribution of liquid products, meat products, produce, bakery and other services. The company provides a variety of networked solutions for the total supply chain spectrum. Golden State Foods began in 1947 as a small meat company providing products to area restaurants and hotels. In 1967, the company became a primary supplier to McDonald's and grew into a large diversified company. The company is comprised of several divisions, including liquid and meat products. The liquid products division manufactures hundreds of various condiments, sauces, dressings, syrups, jams/jellies and toppings. The meat products division produces beef products, including cooked beef, hamburger patties, taco meat, chili and burrito fillings. In 2006, Forbes listed Golden State Foods as the 137th-largest private company. The company has distribution facilities located throughout the U.S., including operations in Phoenix.
