Desert Mountain School, governed by the Deer Valley Unified School District, serves students in kindergarten through grade eight. The school supports several sports activities, including volleyball, basketball and softball. Its staff members include counselors, psychologists, nurses, intervention specialists, speech pathologists and subject teachers. Desert Mountain School offers special classes in art, music, band and physical education. The school provides special education programs for students with physical and mental disabilities. Its media center and library houses a collection of storybooks, dictionaries, encyclopedias, reference materials, and fiction and nonfiction books. Desert Mountain School has English, math, science, social studies and language arts departments.
