On the 14th of August, I was admitted with a stroke. The next morning they did surgery on my carotid. In ICU there was a nurse, Kelly who was the most compassionate and caring person. Right after getting in recovery, I developed a hematoma, she immediately put pressure on it for 30 minutes. Never letting up. I was in agony and she consoled me. After she got me stable, she asked if I would like to have a pain pill. I fell asleep. At 1:30 pm I woke to the smell of coffee from a pill induced sleep. I asked her if I could have a cup & she saw to it immediately. She cooled it down so I could drink it and never left my side.
Over the next few days, Kelly was my nurse . After being moved to another room, she would pop in to see how I was doing. Even though I wasn't in her charge. She would find what room I was in.
She has so much compassion and caring.
If I could tell her one more time how great she was ,I would do so.
