The Pennsylvania School for the Deaf is one of the oldest schools that provide a range of deafness-related services to vision and hearing impaired people. It provides several educational and social programs to students to enhance their academic development. The center organizes a range of special events and classes that include lip reading courses, annual community day and athletic activities. It additionally offers sign language classes through certified teachers and professionals. The center has a museum that displays books, sports equipment, audiological devices, photographs and other mementos of the school. The Pennsylvania School for the Deaf, founded in 1820, is located in Philadelphia.
