General Info

Mestichelli Family Dentistry was started in 1982 on Broad Street in South Philadelphia as a family practice for general dentistry. Dr. William Mestichelli founded the practice as a solo practitioner, and he has been in business since that time. Currently, the practice is in its fifth location at 1903 South Broad Street. All previous locations of the practice have been on Broad Street, and Dr. Mestichelli has retained sole ownership since the practices founding. Each time, Dr. Mestichelli moved his office in order to grow and upgrade the technology of the practice. Dr. Mestichelli took on a partner for the first time in his practice of dentistry with the addition Dr. Michael Barnes. Dr. Barnes joined the practice after graduating from the Columbia University College of Dental Medicine in May 2013. Dr. Barnes also earned his MD from The University of Southern California before attending dental school. He is Dr. Mestichellis son-in-law, which will allow the practice to continue to operate as a family business. In 2017 Dr. Mestichelli and Dr. Barnes welcomed associate dentist, Dr. Kate Shusterman, who is also a general dentist.
