Established in 1987, Calcutta House serves more than 350 individuals suffering from AIDS. It has 15-plus-bed facility and provides nursing services 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The center offers housekeeping and laundry services and provides assistance with bathing, dressing, eating and medication monitoring. It also offers ongoing care assessments, treatment planning and monitoring services. Calcutta House s social service department offers case management, behavioral health care, family support, and psychological and psychiatric counseling services. Its extracurricular activities include music, drama, arts and crafts, bowling, bingo and sports. Additionally, the center provides nutrition counseling and hospice care services. Calcutta House is located in Philadelphia.
