It was my first time at Benny the Bum. I am from NYC originally. Now residing in South Jersey.
I am so happy to have found out about Benny the bum. I no longer need to travel to New York's City's, City Island for excellent seafood.
I ordered the Dungeness crab with Old Bay seasoning. I have never in my life, so far, tasted such a well seasoned crab. Most places either apply too much, or not enough. The food was excellent, and worthy every penny.
The only concern, I have is the faucet water served with the meals. The water tasted like the pipes they came out of. I'd rather pay for bottled water next time. I ordered the raspberry iced tea, it also tasted like faucet water. Perhaps this eatery could use a water purification system. Other than that, every thing else was gravy!!!!




I have read the reviews regarding loud music playing in the establishment. Thank goodness, the Sunday evening I went, it was quiet!
The owner needs to understand, everyone doesn't appreciate the noise. A quiet more relaxing atmosphere would be in order. Give your patrons a choice in the matter.
