- Founded in 1985, BEBASHI is a provider of support services for people living with HIV and AIDS. It offers a range of prevention and advocacy services, including street outreach, counseling and testing for sexually transmitted infections, pregnancies and HIV. The organization also provides case management, housing-related counseling, care outreach, support groups and food cupboard services. In addition, it offers prison discharge planning, syphilis elimination and nutritional support programs and provides adolescent obesity education and diabetes intervention projects. The organization also provides medical care, community services and therapeutic support to HIV-positive women. BEBASHI is a founding member of the Philadelphia AIDS Consortium, the Minority AIDS Project of Philadelphia, the National Minority AIDS Coalition and the Washington West Project. It is located in Philadelphia.
