As a part of the City of Pharr in Texas, the Pharr Police Department works to protect life and properties of residents and visitors through several divisions. It maintains a police academy that prepares participants to serve the needs of the community and to uphold the law of society in a professional manner. The department also provides educational and training program that focuses on the development of skills and imparting knowledge for career as a peace officer. It handles ambulance requests and emergency and nonemergency calls, as well as offers 24-hour 911 dispatch services. The Pharr Police Department additionally maintains an online record of sex offenders and provides criminal investigation services.
