Provided by YP.comThe owner took our money for the $100 deposit for a move within Petaluma, yet later, he added a 4 hour minimum. I said we didn't agree to this, so the owner said he was going to charge us for his movers waiting around while I disputed the bill. He keep hurrying me, saying that he was doing a favor for us taking our job at last minute, and that his movers were waiting to be paid, that we shouldn't have them move us if we didn't want to pay, and that they were cheap, and I need to pay the full price per hour for his movers doing nothing while I asked my roommate about whether she heard of the 4 hour minimum. At 9pm the night before our 8 am move, he sent an email with the 4 hour minimum. That is not part of our original verbal contract over the phone, and so is unenforceable! We refused to pay for 4 hours when we didn't use that many. He also tried to add a 5% service charge to credit cards, which is a scam. He tried to charge us for the driving time, which he told us he wouldn't charge for.
RESPONSE to Owner's response: There was never any paper work, you liar! We only communicated via phone and email. We never signed any paperwork agreeing to the 4 hour minimum. You took our $100 deposit without telling us about a 4 hour minimum and you say you didn't take our money!!!!! Would you had returned our deposit if we didn't go with you? In our email, you clearly sent us the 4 hour minimum at 9 pm at night. When we asked about it, you made it seem like any hour would be fine by asking," Good many hours would you need them for?" We had to pay for the driving time (20 minutes) even though you said you wouldn't charge for driving time at first as a part of your email communication, and charged us anyways because you only offered it as a "courtesy." We only used them for 3 hours 10 minutes moving time, yet we paid for 3 and a half hours, $215*3.5=$750. While I was disputing the bill, he said, " You will need to pay for my men waiting," in order to pressure me to pay.
