- Upholstery Cleaning
- VacuumingClean this fabric only by vacuuming or light brushing to prevent dust and grime from accumulating. Water-based foam or cleaning agents of any kind may cause excessive shrinking, fading or possible distortion.
- Furniture CleaningHave this treated by a professional furniture cleaning service only. Use of water-based or detergent-based cleaners may cause excessive shrinking. Water stains may become permanent. To prevent overall soiling, frequent vacuuming or light brushing is recommended to remove dust and grime.
- Stain RemovalHowever garments can have other stains on them like the ice cream that didn’t make into the mouth but landed on the slacks as an example. These are removed many times by the spot removal technician who is trained to know what will come out in drycleaning and what needs to be “pre-spotted” (meaning treated before cleaning) or “post-spotted” (meaning after the first cleaning). Within the drycleaning solution are also what we typically call detergents but they are cleaning aids that assist in what experts call WSSR (water soluble stain removal).
- Leather CleaningPainted leathers (think black biker jacket for example) are notorious in getting mold and mildew growing on them. I would guess that 30-50% of the painted leathers we get in, have mold/mildew on them, from being stored in a damp basement or in a car trunk for example. Usually, in our special leather cleaning process, the mold and mildew is easily removed and does not show any damage to the painted surface as you can see by the before and after photos.
- SweepingA few more tips include frequent vacuuming to remove pet and human hair, lint and other debris, paying close attention to corners and underneath furniture. You want to be very thorough around baseboard and other hard to reach areas. The area behind the sofa can be a breeding ground since it is seldom moved. Years ago, more folks did a spring and fall cleaning where everything got moved and swept and cleaned and this is a good practice. Sweeping out the inside of your drawers, and the closets are very helpful. Remember, just because you don’t see an active insect does not mean that there are not eggs or larvae present.
