Community Action for Wyoming County is a nonprofit organization that was incorporated in 1995 to fight the causes of poverty by providing a variety of advocacy and support services to the residents of Wyoming County, N.Y. It administers the Section 8 Rental Assistance program, which provides rental assistance to low-income households for securing affordable housing facilities. The agency provides home repair assistance for low-income homeowners of single-unit dwellings. Its homebuyer program enhances the ability of moderate-to-low income families to become homeowners. The agency designs a variety of seminars and training sessions to assist residents in securing employment and employers in seeking employees.
