Operational for more than 40 years, Children s Home is a nonprofit social service organization. Located in Peoria, Ill., the agency is approved by the Illinois State Board of Education, Council on Accreditation of Services for Families and Children, and North Central Association of Colleges and Schools. A nonsectarian agency, it is also licensed by the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services. The agency serves more than 2,000 children annually, and employs over 5000 personnel. Children s Home offers a wide variety of services, such as live-in care and treatment solutions, temporary and permanent residential units, group homes, supervised independent living, and foster care for children with social, emotional and behavioral problems. It also offers special educational programs, community-based services, in-home counseling, mental health services, crisis intervention and abuse prevention programs.
