The company is a middle-man for contract / temporary engineering services for larger companies, such as Caterpillar, Harley-Davidson, and the like. Their main focus is on billable hours. Their VP of Sales / Marketing talks a good show how he likes to see his engineers continuing education, but when it comes to down to it, it's just talk. Recently, working at one of their clients, that's upgrading from a version 3.0 to a 5.0 software and other supporting software -- they decided to forgo the clients mandatory training. The word was, "we'd struggle through it together," according to the account executive working on-site. It appeared to be 7 hours that aren't billable to their client, but they'd actually have to pay toward. You're better off contracting through some other company, that may bill above your rate, but at least you get the training / continuing education the rest of your peers do.
