Duran Junior High School serves students in grades seven and eight. The school provides educational services for more than 640 students. It conducts English, history, math, science, computer applications and physical education classes. The school also organizes language arts Olympiad. It staffs a media specialist and guidance counselor. Duran Junior High School, also known as DJHS, operates choir and junior beta clubs. The school offers special education services for students with learning disabilities. Additionally, it has a library and media center that features books and reference materials. The school provides several sports activities, such as baseball, basketball and football. Duran Junior High School is located in Pell City, Ala., and is a part of Pell City Schools, which was formed in 1982.
