      Music therapy is the USE of music in the therapy process. Music therapy is provided by a board certified music therapist. WHO uses evidence based interventions. The therapy focuses on nonmusical goals including such AS motor skills. Communication skills. Cognitive functioning. Social skills. And emotional support. Many populations of people CAN benefit from music therapy people with autism. Intellectual and physical developmental disabilities. Memory loss diseases. And people WHO have experienced traumatic brain injuries. Contact COA if interested for an initial assessment. The initial assessment will BE used to evaluate the client to determine appropriate interventions to meet goals. Following the initial assessment. Music therapy sessions will consist of focusing on interventions to provide success for clients in their goals. Adaptive music lessons are music lessons for students. WHO MAY have difficulty with traditional methods of learning music.
