When I came in, just 3 months ago I could not lift my arms over my head. Now I have free movement. The doctor and staff are very friendly; my experience was great. I would recommend anyone with arm or hand pain here!

General Info
Dr. Budoff is a Board & Certified Orthopaedic Hand & Upper extremity surgeon involved in cutting-edge research involving the treatment of upper extremity disorders. Dr. Budoff has written and published 41 articles in leading medical journals and has authored 20 textbook chapters. In addition, he has edited five textbooks on the treatment of disorders of the upper extremity (hand, wrist, elbow and shoulder). He serves on national committees and frequently lectures at national meetings. He serves as an Associate Master Instructor of shoulder arthroscopy for a national organization and teaches other practicing orthopaedic surgeons the most up-to-date techniques of arthroscopic shoulder surgery. He was a Leadership Fellow for both the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and the American Society for Surgery of the Hand. He is an Associate Editor for the Journal of Hand Surgery and a Reviewer for the Journal of Bone and Joint Surgery, two of the most prestigious orthopaedic journals, where he helps other surgeons prepare their manuscripts for publication. Dr. Budoff graduated Cum Laude from Harvard University and with honors from Cornell Medical School. He completed his residency in Orthopaedic Surgery at the University of California, Irvine, where his test scores over his four years of residency were among the highest in the nation. In order to obtain expertise covering the entire upper extremity, he completed two fellowships, one in Hand Surgery and the other in Sports Medicine. He is board certified in Orthopaedic Surgery and has a Certificate of Additional Qualification in Hand Surgery. Dr. Budoff spent 9 years teaching medical students, residents and Hand Surgery Fellows at the Baylor College of Medicine, where he was an Associate Professor. Dr. Budoff is currently a Clinical Associate Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery at the University of Texas, Houston. Dr. Budoff specializes in open and arthroscopic surgery of the hand, wrist, elbow and shoulder. He is an expert in endoscopic carpal tunnel release, endoscopic cubital tunnel release, sports injuries, fractures, dislocations, arthritis, tennis elbow, shoulder instability, rotator cuff injuries, frozen shoulder, SLAP repairs, total elbow and total shoulder replacements. He also has specialized experience with complicated surgical reconstructions for patients with rheumatoid arthritis, quadriplegia and spasticity following stroke or brain trauma. In many difficult cases, he has enhanced patientââ"šÂ¬Ã¢"žÂ¢s quality of life and independence by restoring function to their hand, wrist elbow, and shoulder Dr. Budoffââ"šÂ¬Ã¢"žÂ¢s focus is on restoring function and eliminating pain with the newest, least invasive, most up-to-date methods possible. He is often referred complicated upper extremity cases from other orthopaedic surgeons. Dr. Budoff does all of his own surgeries. His one-incision endoscopic carpal tunnel release is the least invasive technique currently available. Independent research has confirmed that the one-incision endoscopic carpal tunnel release gets most people back to work (and other worthwhile activities) quicker than open carpal tunnel release or the two-incision endoscopic carpal tunnel release that many surgeons advertise. Dr. Budoff currently sees patients in the Texas Medical Center and has satellite offices in Clearlake, Pearland and Katy, Texas.
