Paterson Fire Department, established in 1970, offers fire protection and emergency services throughout New Jersey. It protects life, property, and the environment from fire and other natural disasters, such as explosions, vehicle accidents, hazardous materials, coastal incidents and hazardous conditions. The services offered by the department include rescue operations, fire code enforcement, life safety regulations, fire cause investigations and safety information. It also provides training and educational programs in general safety, emergency response and life saving techniques, and has a medical division that provides medical ambulatory services to patients.
