The Junior League of Parkersburg offers opportunities for women to develop leadership abilities and assists in forging community connections and friendships. The organization is affiliated with the Association of Juniors Leagues International (AJLI), an international organization of women that focuses on promoting voluntarism and developing leadership abilities. The Junior League of Parkersburg maintains the Cook House which serves as a 19th century historical exhibit for the community. Its Kids in the Kitchen initiative focuses on empowering youths to make healthy lifestyle choices and assisting in reversing the growth of childhood obesity and related health issues. The organization also raises funds by selling new and used items donated from members, friends and businesses. The Junior League of Parkersburg is located in Parkersburg, W.Va.
