The Lake County Clerk of Courts maintains records of legal matters and motor vehicle titles. The office files, dockets, indexes and preserves court pleadings for civil, felony criminal and domestic relation cases. It issues writs on summons, subpoenas, arrest warrants, as well as signs death warrants in capital cases. The Lake County Clerk of Courts collects court costs on more than 6,000 cases annually.
