The Ozark Police Department is responsible for maintaining law and order and protecting the lives and properties of residents in City of Ozark. The department is staffed by investigators, animal control personnel and patrol, correction and narcotics officers, as well as clerical and administrative staff members. Its criminal investigations bureau handles all paperwork, reporting, arrests, case preparation and presentation to the judicial system for subsequent prosecution. The Ozark Police Department s Wiregrass Violent Crime/Drug Task Force is responsible for the investigation of all narcotic offenses, as well as violent crimes. Its K-9 division specializes in apprehending dangerous criminals and criminal suspects. The Ozark Police Department maintains an animal shelter for the protection of stray, wild and domesticated animals.
