The Rio School District provides educational classes to more than 5,000 students in kindergarten through grade eight. The district school offer a variety of academic courses, such as computer applications, math, science, music, reading, language arts, basic skills, and health and physical education. Its schools have counseling departments that work directly with faculty, students and parents to facilitate academic success and personal development of the students. Each district school has a library media center that enables students and staff to effectively locate and use information, as well as encourages lifelong learning. In addition, the district provides educational and instructional aide, medical care, food and transportation services. The Rio School District operates more than five elementary and middle schools and is located in Oxnard, Calif.
