Terrible experience! I would never do business with them again.

My husband purchased a used refrigerator from Main Appliance. There were some needed repairs (small things like regluing the seal, etc.). He requested that the sales person write the repairs on the contract before signing, not that it helped. After the needed three days to repair, they were set to deliver on a Saturday. I cleaned out my refrigerator, they brought in the new, hauled away the old, and then realized that none of the repairs had been done. After showing the delivery driver the contract with the promised repairs, they brought my old refrigerator back and replaced it so that they could take their refrigerator back for the promised repairs.Due to all the issues, this took the greater part of the day. While the delivery men were friendly, it was a complete inconvenience. The following Monday, I called to check on the refrigerator. I spoke with the owner and asked about the repairs. Although it was written on the original contract, he said there would be a minimum charge for the repairs. I explained that we had been promised repairs for the price. We had paid at the time of purchase, and then been inconvenienced by taking an entire Saturday for delivery.He told me that I had been the inconvenience because I had taken up his delivery driver's time on the busiest day of the week. He said that he wouldn't charge me an additional second delivery fee. I was shocked at his attitude, and tried to explain that we had agreed to the price based on the repairs being done, and we certainly didn't expect to pay a second delivery fee anyway, considering the mix up had been their mistake.After further discussion, he told me that he would not deliver the refrigerator again and would not make the repairs. We could pick it up and install it ourselves, or get our money back. As a previous business owner, I was completely floored by the way he treated us. We decided to have our money refunded, and he told us that he would have a check available to pick up in a week. (They had our money for over a week already.) He said that we would need to come by to pick it up on the following Monday. That Monday, my husband stopped by during his lunch break, but he wasn't there, and nobody seemed to know anything about the check. My husband called and spoke with him later that day and he assured my husband that the check would be available the following day. My husband went by Tuesday morning, but again, he wasn't there and there was no check to be found. The staff told my husband that he would be in after 11:00am. Shortly after 11:00am, my husband called and told the owner that he would be coming by for the check. He did refund our money (minus the delivery fee). I am still shocked that a business owner would treat a customer this way. We had checked out Main Appliance because we were told that we could save a great deal by buying used appliances rather than new. We ended up spending just a little more for a new refrigerator. I will never use Main Appliance again... for new or used appliances, and I would strongly discourage any of my friends or family from using them, too.
