Broadmoor Technical Center is operated by the Shawnee Mission Public Schools. Its commercial baking program provides basic understanding of yeast, sweet and quick dough, pie, pastry, and cake production through basic lectures and lab practicum. Its culinary arts program includes preparation skills, food production, service of foods, use of commercial equipment and other facets of the hospitality industry. Its fashion design and construction program provides training in fashion illustration, design, pattern drafting and garment construction. Its health career program offers an overview of the health care field with the continued study of the body systems, medical terminology, health care trends and regulations. Its small engine repair program provides students with the knowledge and technical skills in the field of small engines. The center is located in Overland Park, Kan.
