I recently had to take my dog there for an emergency. He was not doing good and they immediately took him to the back and put him on oxygen and started running labs. I knew the outcome was not going to be good, but they explained everything to me so well even though i was crying my eyes out the entire time. They would ask me over and over " do you need a minute" or " do you need time to think" And "Take as much time as you need". I was there for about 2 hours. I received bad news and a price that i just couldn't afford. But it wasn't even the price that led to the most difficult decision of my life. It was that with all of the labs and testing and blood transfusions there was no guarantee that my dog would survive. They were upfront and 100% honest with me. in the middle of it all, all i wanted was to see my dog. even though he had to be on constant oxygen they let me see him for a moment. After i had to put him down the nurse gave me the biggest hug. Most vet techs ive seen wouldnt do that. Then about 5 days later i received a card in the mail with handwritten notes from everyone that worked that day along with two nose prints and paws prints. They really went above and beyond even though we couldn't save my dog, they did all they could to make him comfortable in his last moments. To those who are mad about their prices all i have to say is that they are an emergency vet...a 24 hr vet!!. They do what your normal vet cannot. They have more advanced equipment, equipment that can get you results then and there. It would be like an ER for us people. SO dont be surprised if your bill is a lot. They will do everything they can for your animal and they truly understand how much you love your animal. Give them a break Please!

The staff is so friendly and accommodating. Plus they will help you no matter what time it is, whether it's 4 in the afternoon or 4 in the morning. The fees are not as bad as other bad reviews would have you believe either. Very reasonable.

Kansas City is fortunate to have access to a facility staffed with boarded specialists in many areas. Yes, it is more expensive than a general practice, however they also have veterinarians in the building 24 hrs per day and have highly trained support staff that have higher salaries. Many reviews complained about the cost. It is a business- they still have to pay their staff, their doctors, their supply companies, their insurance etc. Does the grocery store give you groceries for free? Does your doctor provide care for free? Doed your mechanic fix your car for free?

I went to Blue Pearl today for my sick cat because I could not wait until Monday when my regular vet was open. They were so friendly and got me in right away, there were a few others in the waiting room as well. I saw Dr. Kristen Holcomb-Wallace who was awesome. She explained everything to us before doing it and seemed to go above and beyond. My cat was in and out in an hour even with getting an ultrasound and multiple shots. The cost was reasonable and honestly not much more than my regular vet qouted me. Thank you so much Blue Pearl!

They care more about your money than your pet!

They have no compassion for your animal but do have passsion for your bank account! The prices are outrageous, no payment plan! They won't care for your animal till the money's in their hand! All they see is $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ not your pet!

I took my puppy to this hospital because he was experiencing breathing problems and ended up having pneumonia. The quote I received was 1,800.00 to leave him till the morning. I had no choice but to do it but could not help to think that this is plain dishonest. The dog received one dosage of antibiotics IV and stayed there overnight and for that I paid 1,800.00. If you can go somewhere else, do it!

This "Vet Hospital" is only fo...

This "Vet Hospital" is only for those who have alot of money. My 4 month old pug got into some antifreeze so we rushed him into the hospital (My Vet recomended them). When we got there they took him to the back to begin working on him while we filled out the paperwork. About 20 minutes later the Vet came out with an estimate of what it would cost. They wanted $1290-$1490 dollars to work on my dog. I advised them that I couldn't afford that so to bring me my dog. They then handed me a bill for $197 for just taking my dog to the back and making him throw up. I couldn't believe it. When I disputed this, the receptionist stated "Didn't they tell you how much it cost?" When I said no, she didn't really care. I would never take my animal back there again. I will either wait til the next day when my vet is open or try home remedies.

Perhaps someone should suggest to the owners of this hospital that people come to them for their services, not to buy products, therefore they should use the word CLIENT service instead of customer service, especially on their website. The use of customer implies a business such as McDonalds or Price Chopper and tends to lower them to that level. Just a suggestion.
