Ashley Simmons, MD was named medical director of The University of Kansas Hospital's Adelaide C. Ward Women's Heart Health Center, the gateway to women's heart health services, when it opened in 2012. In addition to specializing in women's heart disease, Dr. Simmons' clinical focus includes echocardiography, cardiac CT and MRI, and clinical/consultative/diagnostic cardiology. Dr. Simmons completed her undergraduate work at the University of Kansas, Lawrence, where she received honors in biology. She was a member of the National Golden Key Honor Society and the Pi Beta Phi fraternity for women and was named to Pi Beta Phi's 4.0 Honor Roll and chaired several committees within the fraternity.
