General Info
The Fox River Academy of Music and Art in Oswego, IL, offers private, one-on-one instruction in piano, voice, guitar, violin, saxophone, harp, drums and other instruments at all levels, from early childhood to adult. We also have semi-private and group classes focusing on several visual art forms including oil and chalk pastels, watercolors, pencils, charcoals and others. The Fox River Academy is an official Founding School and Testing Center for the State of Illinois for the Carnegie Hall/Royal Conservatory Achievement Program. We also offer art classes designed for students with special needs. We provide the following activities as part of our student curriculum: • Regular group ensembles and recitals • Bi-annual evaluated performances • Weekly theory classes • Participation in special performance groups Our teachers are professional musicians and artists with years of education and experience in their field. Fox River Academy has been a musical haven for my children. We have experienced lessons with their accomplished voice teacher, patient, skillful, and endearing piano teacher, highly qualified guitar teacher, and creative and talented ensemble instructor. Our family recommends the Academy for the beginning musician as well as the experienced player looking to hone their skills.
For the past 5 years, my kids have taken lessons from the staff at FRA. We are especially pleased with the progress and growth they've developed in acoustic guitar and piano. The owners Karen and Ron are great (as is Ashley at the front desk). They're open to new ideas and have went out of their way on more than 1 occasion to accommodate us. Our family is looking forward to growing with FRA for years to come.
