General Info
After a few years of early retirement, due to a back disability, Dr. Hadley Hoyt realized he wasnt through taking care of patients. He knew he still had a good brain and good hands for patient care, so in 2011 he returned to Mid-Missouri Ear, Nose and Throat, Osage Beach Clinic, to work again with Dr. Michael Simmons and Dr. Douglas Howland.Their practice, which is also located in Jefferson City, recently merged with the Jefferson City Medical Group. The otolaryngologists rotate through the Jefferson City and Lake Clinic with Dr. Reese Thompson of JCMG to provide mid-Missourians with care for the ear, nose and throat, including sinus and facial surgery.Dr. Hoyt came to the Lake area in 1999, after practicing in Des Moines, Iowa, for 15 years. While in Iowa, he served a term as president of his state medical society. He and his family had vacationed at the Lake of the Ozarks for years, and had built a home on the Lake, so the decision to move there was an easy one.Board certified as a family physician, he left family practice in 1981 for a residency in Otorhinolaryngology/Surgery of the Head and Neck. He is a fellow in the American Osteopathic College of Ophthalmology and Otolaryngology, Oro-facial Plastic Surgery, and served as the organizations national president. He is also a fellow of the American Academy of Otolaryngology/Head & Neck Surgery. He has lectured extensively and served as medical school adjunct faculty several years.Dr. Hoyt has office hours two days a week, restricting his practice to adults. I enjoy taking my time and visiting with them, and Im not in such a hurry, he says.He has a special interest in sudden hearing loss, tinnitus and equilibrium issues, but also sees patients for general ear, nose and throat concerns. Since there is an unmet need for dermatology at the Lake, he also removes skin cancers in the clinic.
